insanity at its brink

Just look, think, read, imagine. This is the British Slave ship Brookes in the act of 1788. This is pure insanity. All of those little blurs in this photo are slaves crammed into spaces two feet by seven inches below and on shelves. This ship was holding approximately four hundred and thirty slaves. I don't know about you, but this really gets me. It bothers me so much. Holy crap!!
Well, I just thought I would give you this to stir yourself up a bit. Hopefully it triggers something.

Lately I've been worried about how I was going to get to Mexico, but this afternoon I found out that I'm going to be alright. =) I got $300 from the fundraiser and $200 from the Grandma and Grandpa, so it is only costing me $200 to go. WOAH! CRAZY STUFF, HEY?! Hallelujah.

Mexico is in 18 days! WOOT.

This weekend my Uncle Rob came over, which was a complete surprise to me. I had no idea he was coming.
My mom and I were taking Zoe for a walk around 8:30 on Friday night and up rolls my uncle right next to me. At first I thought he was a creeper until I saw the 'Smith & Millar: Interior Design & Contracting LTD.' sign on his truck.
It was super awesome to see him, even if he didn't bring his lovely daughter, Megan. =D ((Next time meg.. next time))

Today Samantha, my mom and I went to Nanaimo. My mom bought a laptop. Huh. I'm using it at this precise moment, come to think of it.

Oh, the other day I got a phone. Kinda cool. =)

Yesterday in Socials we had a sub. His name was Mr. Hide. .. =S He reminded me of the joker. AAH! seriously, it was kind of weird.
For today and tomorrow there's a sub in my home room because Mr. Shuel went to Nevada for a golf tournament. (PLEASE! HE'S PROBABLY GONNA GAMBLE TOO. bahahaaha)

There. I finally updated my blog. =)


OKAY! Tuesday was Cadre, and I tell you man, it was so fun! Samantha brought the fixings for floats! A huge bucket of ice cream, rootbeer and cream soda.
Mer, Zandra, Sam, Danielle and I couldn't find any huge cups in the church kitchen, so Mercedes and I had the brilliant idea of using JUICE JUGS!! We filled those babies to the rim. They were the biggest and tastiest floats I have ever had.
mmm.. At cadre we also played name that worshiper. HAHAH!! Becka REALLY enjoys that game. =) ahaha. It was such a hoot.

Wednesday was Youth, and Jay did a very good job.
Thursday was the Mexico Meeting, which was productive. Marika, Mik, Merbs, Mel, Sarah, Sam and I are donig a, (in my opinion) hilarious skit. I guess you'll have to come down to the Valentines Comedy Night to see it. =)
Today is a Pro-D day. Hallelujah, thank the Lord. In the past two weeks, I've gone to school for less than 4 days. WOOH!
Oh, I found out the other day that I'm on First Class Honors =)

Generation Unleashed '09

GENERATION UNLEASHED: THE STANDARD WAS AMAZING!

This year Jay and Kels took part of the Thrive leadership team to Portland for a conference at City Bible Church, hence 'GENERATION UNLEASHED: THE STANDARD WAS AMAZING!'
Sixteen of us went, Jay, Kels, Ryan, Becks, Bran, Russ, Madi, Marika, Mik, Merbs, Mandy, Zandra, Tianna, Em and me.. well and Cody, but he isn't a leader. =)

The girls stayed at a host home RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from the church. The house had a fabulous view of Portland because it was right near... A CLIFF! That's right people. It was a huge place full of food. and... IT HAD A BIDET!

Anyways, the conference was wicked! Worship was incredible, complete with three BRAND NEW songs, the sessions were great, spoken by P. Doug, P. Donna, P. Judah, and P. Frank.
There were over 4000 kids crammed into the church.

I don't really have enough room to say how fun this trip was, so I'll end off with....
I am pumped for Gen Unleashed 2010!!!
